Internship Programme
NKR Veterinary Specialists runs a one-year rotating internship in surgery, ophthalmology and emergency service. Veterinary Surgeons apply from all over the world for these positions and selection from such a wealth of talent is a real challenge.
The interns spend a week at a time in each discipline, under the supervision of a specialist. Besides learning the speciality field they also gain an insight into the management of a top quality referral practice. In time they become accomplished in client care and during out of hours are responsible for triaging cases in consultation with appropriate specialists.
An internship is a vital part of preparation for acceptance onto a Residency programme to gain specialist status as a Diplomate. NKR Veterinary Specialists works hard to coach our interns to that end and last year two of them were successful in obtaining Residencies in Surgery and Internal Medicine.
Each year’s programme will be advertised in our positions available section from the end of February and will begin in August.
