Monica Merlo DVM MRCVS
Residency trained Consultant in Veterinary Radiology
Monica graduated from the University of Turin in 1993. As a student she went on an exchange to Cornell University, and was inspired by Victor Rendano who mentored her specialisation into diagnostic imaging.
In 2001 she completed an ECVDI residency programme under the supervision of Chris Lamb (Royal Veterinary College) and Luigi Pozzi (University of Turin). Monica has visited several academic institutions in Europe and USA participating in meetings and congresses and working with imaging specialists.
Since completing her residency Monica has been dealing with imaging on a daily basis. In Italy she had her own practice and provided an imaging service for several other private practices. She returned to the UK to work in a busy referral centre in the south east. A year later she began her own imaging service consulting for several referral centres around London and the south east. Monica joined NKR Veterinary Specialists in 2009 and is relishing the challenge of expanding and continually improving the service.
Monica is interested in all aspects of diagnostic imaging; conventional and digital radiology, ultrasound, CT and MRI, with a particular interest in abdominal and thoracic ultrasound and ultrasound guided FNA and biopsy.
