Maria Joćo Vieira da Silva DVM

João joined us in October 2009 to begin a four year residency ECVO (European College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists) approved alternative program in Ophthalmology under the supervision of Rick Sanchez. João graduated from Lisbon in 1981 and since then she has accumulated extensive experience in general practice in her native Portugal, where she has been Clinical Director of her own small animal clinic, Clἱnica Veterinária de Matosinhos, in Porto, since 1994. She has accumulated considerable experience in ophthalmology and is a member of both the European Society of Veterinary Ophthalmology and the European Society of Feline Medicine. João will spend two out of every three months at NKR Veterinary Specialists over the next four years as a resident specialist-in-training and a valued member of the ophthalmology team in our hospital.
