Dr. Gert ter Haar DVM PhD DECVS MRCVS

Gert ter Haar is from the Netherlands and graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Utrecht in 1997 with a specialisation in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery. He followed an internship at the Utrecht University with a Residency in Small Animal Surgery. In 2001 he became Assistant Professor in Veterinary Surgery at the University, dealing mainly with Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) and upper airway diseases.
In July 2002 he became a Diplomate of the ECVS and in 2003 was appointed Head of the Department of ENT at the University of Utrecht. In 2009 Gert became President of the International Veterinary ENT Association (IVENTA). He has just completed a PhD on age-related hearing loss in dogs during which he lectured internationally. Gert works part-time at the University of Utrecht and at NKR Veterinary Specialists.
