NKR Veterinary Specialists runs an emergency service for veterinary practices local to our Surrey clinic. This means that we provide the out of hours cover for them at night, weekends and bank holidays. Handling their emergency cover for them in this way means that their veterinary surgeons can be fresh and alert to run their normal daytime clinics.

Our emergency service veterinary surgeons have a particular interest in dealing with "ER" type situations and have acquired special training in critical care. The clinic has sophisticated equipment for providing the best possible intensive care and our staff provide a twenty-four hour veterinary and nursing presence.

If your veterinary surgeon uses our emergency service, and your pet is unfortunate enough to need urgent attention out of hours, you just need to call your practice and will be given our contact number.

When you call us out of hours an automated telephone service will put you through to the person on duty at our emergency clinic. A nurse or veterinary surgeon will be there to discuss your problem and advise you. If you feel your pet ought to be seen, they will arrange for you to come to the clinic. We prefer you to call first so we are prepared for your pets arrival, however in a severe emergency please go straight to the clinic but try to let us know you are on your way.

When your pet is discharged from our emergency clinic a full report is sent by fax or email to your own veterinary surgeon and we will advise you about when you need to go back to them for a re-examination.
