Cardiorespiratory Medicine

Cardiorespiratory medicine deals with cardiac and airway disease. Specialists in cardiorespiratory medicine help to find the solution to problems such as heart murmurs, persistent coughing, breathing difficulties, episodes of collapse (fainting), exercise intolerance and heart rhythm abnormalities (arrhythmias).
After an initial consultation at NKR Veterinary Specialists your pet may be admitted for further investigations such as cardiac ultrasound, thoracic radiographs, electrocardiography, blood pressure measurement, bronchoscopy, or 24 hour Holter monitor recording. Depending on the problem your pet may return home the same or the following day but some pets may need additional hospitalisation depending on their condition.
If you have an appointment to see the cardiologist at NKR Veterinary Specialists we will carefully explain and discuss the options available to you to best solve your pet’s cardiorespiratory problems.
