Fixed Price Procedures - Terms and Conditions
NKR’s Fixed Price Procedures offer your clients the opportunity to have a range of standard treatments carried out at NKR Veterinary Specialists for a price that is fixed; regardless of the duration of the surgery or the individual variations in price that can occur between patients. These prices represent substantial discounts compared to our usual individually priced procedures.
All prices include the initial consultation, diagnostic work, treatment and hospitalisation to the same standard as our full fee paying patients. We do not compromise on the quality of the care given or the equipment used in these procedures.
Payment is due at the time of the initial treatment. All prices include VAT at the current rate.
In order to qualify for a fixed price agreement:
- Payment is due at or prior to discharge from the initial treatment (this assumes most cases will be ready to proceed to surgery at their first visit to us). This includes any payments for 'Orthopaedic Surgery Aftercare Bundles'.
If it is not possible or practical to admit the patient for surgery at the initial consultation then the following option is available to qualify for the fixed price agreement:
- Full payment, or a deposit, is taken at the time of the initial consultation, and the surgery is scheduled for another day within two weeks of the initial consultation, at which time the remainder of fees are payable.
Direct Insurance Claims are not eligible for fixed price procedures. All prices include VAT at the current rate.
Items included in this agreement:
Medication & Injections
Antibiotics and analgesia (opiates and/or NSAID’s) are given pre operatively and post operatively with a course of tablets to continue at home.
Fluid Therapy
Fluids will be given (where appropriate) via an intravenous catheter using a pump for the duration of the surgery and recovery, to support renal function.
Radiology
Radiographs (x-rays) where appropriate are taken pre and post operatively to confirm a successful surgical treatment.
Laboratory
NKR Veterinary Specialists believes that pre-operative blood tests are the ‘gold standard’ and the patient’s status will be assessed in this way, prior to anaesthesia.
Consumables
All consumables used as standard in the procedure, items include; disposable drapes, gowns, needles etc. Patients are kept warm through the anaesthesia with warm air blankets which are also disposed of after each use.

All patients are cared for by registered qualified nurses (night nurses are on a ‘waking shift’) and are attended by the clinician in charge of the case at regular intervals for reassessment.
Anaesthesia
GA maintenance & monitoring are performed by qualified nurses or interns (qualified vets on a period of learning). The anaesthetic agent is usually Sevoflurane which provides greater control and a smoother, quicker recovery.

There are several options including; Post operative examination with radiography, Physiotherapy – 6 visit course, Post operative examination with radiography, plus physiotherapy.
